Director
Nan Moore

 

Nan Moore has been the director of bands at Louisville Male High School  since 1978. She received a BME from Morehead State University, a MAE from  Western Kentucky University, and a Specialist Degree in Administration from  Spalding University. Ms. Moore is active as an adjudicator and guest  conductor, and has served as the State Band chairperson for KMEA.  Phi Beta  Mu Bandmasters Fraternity awarded Ms. Moore  the Outstanding Bandmaster  Award for the state of  Kentucky in 1995. Under her leadership at Male, the  band program has become the largest in the Jefferson County Public School  District. The concert bands at Male have performed at the SDMENC In-Service  Conference,  numerous KMEA In-Service Conferences and consistently receive  superior ratings at concert festivals throughout Kentucky, Canada, and the  Eastern United States.

Percussion
Tim Gipson

Tim Gipson is a Percussion Instructor at Louisville Male High School. A native of Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. Gipson graduated from North Bullitt High School and holds a BME from Morehead State University. Mr. Gipson also teaches elementary band and is the Assistant Band Director at Jefferson County Traditional Middle School in Louisville.  Mr. Gipson has worked with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps

Forrest

Ashley Forrest is the band director at Thomas Jefferson Middle School and a staff member at Louisville Male High School. Originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, she is a graduate of Apollo High School and holds a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of Louisville. Her professional affiliations include KMEA, MENC, JCTA and Delta Omicron.

Handley

 

Tim Handley- has been an Assistant Director since 2002. His responsibilities as Assistant Director, include show design, marching development/fundamentals, and selection of the instructional staff.

Tim has been involved with the marching activity for more than 17 years. A proud member of the DCI World Champion Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps(1991,1992,1993). Tim has been associated with some of Best Teaching/Talent in America. Tim attended Gainesville High School (Florida)and graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1991. A member of the Indiana All-State Band(1991). Tim attended Indiana State University where he studied Music Performance. Tim also attended Indiana University Southeast, where he studied Business Finance.

Mr. Handley’s goal as an educator is to produce bright confident young adults. " The kids are our future. If we can instill a good work ethic, I believe we can produce some incredible, creative, young adults. The sky is the limit for the kids, never stop dreaming."
