Director of Bands 
Nan Moore has been the
director of bands at Louisville Male High School since 1978. She
received a BME from Morehead State University, a MAE from Western
Kentucky University, and a Specialist Degree in Administration from
Spalding University. Ms. Moore is active as an adjudicator and guest
conductor, and has served as the State Band chairperson for KMEA. Phi
Beta Mu Bandmasters Fraternity awarded Ms. Moore the Outstanding
Bandmaster Award for the state of Kentucky in 1995. Under her
leadership at Male, the band program has become the largest in the
Jefferson County Public School District. The concert bands at Male
have performed at the SDMENC In-Service Conference, numerous KMEA
In-Service Conferences and consistently receive superior ratings at
concert festivals throughout Kentucky, Canada, and the Eastern United
States.

Middle School Director/Staff Member
Ashley T. Forrest has been the band director at Thomas Jefferson Middle School and Assistant Director at Louisville Male High School since 2000. The band at TJMS consists of over 150 sixth through eighth grade students. The concert bands and percussion ensembles at TJMS have consistently scored distinguished and proficient ratings at KMEA festivals. As an assistant director at Louisville Male High School, Mrs. Forrest works with all after-school activities, including co-directing the jazz band. Every other summer, she and her husband, David, have been staff members for the Kentucky Ambassadors of Music European Tour.
Mrs. Forrest is the arts and humanities department chair and a SBDM council member at TJMS and has been a KTIP mentor since 2004. She served as the KMEA District 12 Elementary/Middle School Instrumental Chair from 2004-2008 and the District Secretary/Treasurer from 2009-2011. In 2008, she presented a professional development session over middle school rehearsal strategies at the Jefferson County Music In-service.
Mrs. Forrest received her Bachelor’s in Music and Master of Arts in Teaching degrees from the University of Louisville in 1999 and 2000 respectively. She completed a Rank 1 in School Administration and an Educational Specialist Certificate from UofL in 2009. Her professional affiliations include MENC, KMEA, Delta Omicron, and she is a member of the University of Louisville School of Music Alumni Council. |

Middle School Director/Percussion Director
Tim
Gipson is a Percussion Instructor at Louisville Male High School. A
native of Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. Gipson graduated from North Bullitt
High School and holds a BME from Morehead State University. Mr. Gipson
also teaches elementary band and is the Assistant Band Director at
Jefferson County Traditional Middle School in Louisville. Mr. Gipson
has worked with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps
